Department of Pharmacognosy is the profile and trains specialists on specialty “Pharmacy”. On the department are trained the full-time students (3 and 5 courses) and extramural students (2-6 courses). For foreign students the teaching is conducted in Russian and English languages. One of the main tasks in training of modern pharmacist specialist is the maximal conformity of training content for his practice. In this regard, in the Department of Pharmacognosy was created the system of educational process management. It includes the improvement of training programs, plans in the disciplines, are focused on training of students of practical skills of specialist, control of skills – a modular and the final, conducting of educational practice. Work programs in all disciplines are original and are based on of model programs. At present time in Pharmacognosy and Medicinal plants resource science are developed educational and methodological complexes, based on use of innovative and information technologies. Lectures and laboratory classes are fully provided multimedia presentations and visual materials, textbooks, teaching and methodical aids. Created the fund of test and situational tasks on the courses of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal plants resource science. At the department was created herbarium fund with approximately 5000 herbarium specimens and fund of herbal drugs. By the employees of department was created the collection plot of medicinal plants, where students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the living medicinal plants. The students annually perform and successfully defend the course works, degree and master’s degree works, which correspond to the directions of scientific research of the department.
